D Day 83 Reservations and Cancellation Policy

D-Day 83 Hosted Mission

Reservation & Cancellation Terms

Reservation

Participation in the D-Day 83 Hosted Mission is intentionally limited to preserve the character and quality of the experience.

Reservations are confirmed only after:

  • Submission of a Reservation Request
  • Confirmation of availability by Tours of Duty
  • Receipt of the required reservation deposit
  • Execution of the Participant Agreement

Submission of a Reservation Request does not guarantee participation.

Deposit

A non-refundable deposit equal to 20% of the total Hosted Mission price is required to secure your reservation.

Reservations are not considered confirmed until the deposit has been received.

Final Payment

The remaining balance is due 90 days prior to departure.

Reservations not paid in full by the final payment deadline may be cancelled, and applicable cancellation terms may apply.

Cancellation Policy

Because Tours of Duty secures hotels, ferry accommodations, transportation, private venues, exclusive programming, and other services well in advance, cancellation fees are necessary.

More than 120 days before departure

  • Deposit retained
  • All additional payments refunded

120–91 days before departure

  • Fifty percent (50%) of the total Hosted Mission price is non-refundable.

90 days or fewer before departure

  • The Hosted Mission is non-refundable.

Reservation Transfers

If a participant is unable to attend, Tours of Duty may, at its sole discretion, permit the reservation to be transferred to another qualified participant, provided supplier deadlines permit the substitution and all required documentation has been completed.

Administrative or supplier fees may apply.

Hosted Mission Itinerary

The D-Day 83 Hosted Mission includes privately coordinated experiences, exclusive venues, museums, commemorative ceremonies, ferry transportation, hotels, guest speakers, and other programming.

While every effort will be made to deliver the itinerary as published, Tours of Duty reserves the right to modify accommodations, transportation, schedules, guest speakers, venues, museums, ferry crossings, commemorative events, or other programming due to weather, operational requirements, government restrictions, security considerations, transportation disruptions, venue availability, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Comparable experiences may be substituted when appropriate.

Such changes do not constitute grounds for cancellation or refund.

Physical Requirements

The Hosted Mission is designed as an immersive historical experience and includes extended walking, uneven terrain, historic battlefields, stairs, ferry travel, outdoor commemorative events, and periods of standing.

Participants are responsible for determining whether the Hosted Mission is appropriate for their individual physical abilities and medical needs.

Guests requiring special accommodations are encouraged to contact Tours of Duty prior to making a reservation.

Travel Documentation

Participants are solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining a valid passport and satisfying all entry requirements for the United Kingdom and France.

Failure to obtain the required travel documentation does not constitute grounds for refund.

Airfare

Unless specifically stated otherwise, airfare is not included in the Hosted Mission package.

Participants are encouraged not to purchase non-refundable airline tickets until Tours of Duty confirms the Hosted Mission.

Travel Insurance

Because this Hosted Mission involves international travel and significant advance commitments, comprehensive travel insurance—including Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, and Medical coverage—is strongly recommended.

Tours of Duty is not responsible for losses resulting from a participant’s decision not to purchase travel insurance.

Guest Speakers & Special Programming

Retired flag officers, military leaders, historians, museum professionals, subject matter experts, and special guests are invited to participate based upon their availability.

While every effort will be made to present the published program, appearances remain subject to operational commitments, travel schedules, and unforeseen circumstances.

Photography & Media

Tours of Duty photographers and videographers may document portions of the Hosted Mission for historical, educational, and promotional purposes.

By participating, guests consent to the use of photographs and video in which they may appear unless they notify Tours of Duty in writing prior to the Hosted Mission.

Alcohol Service

Alcohol may be served during select Hosted Mission events.

Participants are expected to consume alcoholic beverages responsibly and comply with all applicable laws and venue policies.

Tours of Duty reserves the right to refuse alcohol service or remove any participant whose conduct compromises the safety, dignity, or enjoyment of the Hosted Mission.

Participant Conduct

The D-Day 83 Hosted Mission is built upon professionalism, mutual respect, and remembrance.

Tours of Duty reserves the right to remove any participant whose behavior is disruptive, abusive, unsafe, unlawful, or inconsistent with the character of the Hosted Mission.

No refund will be provided in such circumstances.

Minimum Participation

Hosted Mission programming is based upon minimum participation requirements.

Should Tours of Duty determine that minimum participation has not been met, participants will be offered either:

  • A full refund of all amounts paid directly to Tours of Duty, or
  • The opportunity to transfer their reservation to a future Hosted Mission.

Force Majeure

Tours of Duty shall not be liable for delays, cancellations, itinerary modifications, or losses resulting from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, severe weather, war, terrorism, civil unrest, pandemics, government actions, transportation disruptions, ferry cancellations, labor disputes, supplier failures, museum closures, military operational requirements, commemorative event changes, or other circumstances outside Tours of Duty’s control.

Hosted Mission Nature

The D-Day 83 Hosted Mission is a privately organized commemorative experience designed and hosted by Tours of Duty.

Tours of Duty coordinates accommodations, transportation, historical programming, commemorative events, and exclusive experiences through a network of carefully selected partners and service providers. While every effort is made to deliver an exceptional experience, certain services are provided by independent organizations operating under their own policies and operational requirements.
